Hi guys! Thanks, for appreciating mine and my staff work.
A real pleasure... 'cause as a fencer, my pleasure sets IN fence itself, but as organizator it's placed in your satisfaction.
So...good! And next year we'll try to improve our standard, resolving the little bugs we had in this passed edition.
[Marc] I must say I'm impressed that at the last day you were able not only to hold a sword but to win the tournement! My sincere congratulations again!
I must say I really enjoyed the chance to cross swords with you and with all the fencers there who were kind enough to let me square with them. I found skillful and elegant opponents that in general showed a hand control I really would have liked for myself. Indeed, for me, something to strive for, that's for sure...
I thank you very much. To be honest, I don't remeber anything, more or less, of the tournament...only some flash, some images, and the general attitude I used...this isn't the firts time it happens to me, probabily caused from the stress of tournament.
Thank you.
I'm not a person used to please anyone, so you can believe what I'm going to tell you.
I truly found in you and your friends "interesting" opponents, and "new" ones.
I'm used to face my Salle friends, the others FISAS student and, at last, the Martinez ones (just a bit, however); I know, more or less, their assault "mindset", and in some case their demeanour or their fencing nature.
With all of you, indeed, it's something completely different.
Differences, for exemple, are in general fighting attitude you are used, fierce and direct. Obviously you're all different among yourself, so I find someone a bit rusher than others, one more accurate than another...but finally, I recognize this assault mindset in all of you.
And, if you allow me to tell you, I see in it a far inheritance, an
"underneath rumour" that remainds to me the Philip the Second period, the Invincible Armada, the court and the streets of that old Spain I studied in school and university.
With the merits and the faults of every history moment...so, not an ideal version but a realistic one.
Probably it's only a suggestion, I study humanities...if so, a truly effective one.
This doesn't necessarily mean you're better, or worse, than fencer I'd fenced with before.
Simply, different and new: and this is stimulating, it gave to me the opportunity to force my habits to create new solutions.
So at the end, that I won or that I didn't, it's almost the same...another time, the true fence is with myself: the continue research of new goals, new ways, new solutions resolving new problems. "Fence with myself", said someone...
Ok, I stop it, probably you have just fall asleep...
[Luis]
Next year, Rome? It would be nice to set up a massive swordfight in the streets of Rome, isn't it?
Anyway, wherever it may be, and if time and money allow it, you'll see me at the next meeting, eager to cross swords with you...again
Oh yes, I'm starting to manage a project for october/november about it...but I don't want to ruin the surprise..so, stay tuned!
Rosa
I hope you'll save some time to cross swords with me again next year... I promise I'm gonna be better
Ok, good to know, I'll have to be better too...'cause you know...
